TrulyThai.com has been set up to help single people meet other singles in Thailand. It provides a simple but effective space to view and contact members, allowing you to chat using text or voice, or even video if you have a webcam.

It’s easy to get going on this site, and relatively easy to navigate. It also offers superior customer support to all members in the form of live support chat. Whilst membership numbers aren’t as high as you might find elsewhere, and it is lacking a few features, the basics of online dating are here, and offer a solid foundation on which to build a long and loving relationship. 

The site is arranged quite logically, using a variety of tabs at the top of the screen. However, you may need to take a bit of a tour around to get your bearings at times, particularly if you’re looking for help. That said, there is a pop-up support box in the corner of the screen if you wish to contact live support. The layout is practical, but not particularly aesthetically pleasing.

Profiles look a bit bland, with small text and photos, but you can increase the size of photos if you click on them. Editing your profile seems at the heart of Truly Thai, as you can quickly and easily update your details as your circumstances or state of mind change. From your dashboard you can quickly choose to allow or deny chat, hide or reveal your profile, choose to accept friend requests and more. This is a greater degree of control than you’ll find on other sites.

Search options are quite limited, which is disappointing because there are a fair number of members you’ll have to wade through. However, if you discover several members you like, then you can add them to a list of friends, allowing you to easily find them again and get in touch.

In order to talk to members you’ll have to upgrade your account. You can choose from free, Bronze, Silver or Gold membership, although in our opinion you really have to upgrade to Gold if you want to use the site to its full potential, and this won’t come cheap. Truly Thai can become quite expensive, particularly if you were to just pay month by month rather than taking out a longer contract. It’s worth using the free account to perform a few searches and then discover if there are members you’re interested in, before deciding to pay to upgrade. 

If you don’t mind paying a bit extra, TrulyThai.com is a solid website to use for finding Thai dates. It has several good communication tools at its disposal, and enough members to keep you interested. However, it doesn’t really excel in any way so the decision to use it really depends on whether or not a member grabs your attention.
