Good Thai Girl might appear basic but it has a few extra features that you won’t find on many dating sites, including video and audio upload options, and the chance to leave hidden messages on people’s photos, blog posts, profiles and more. Whilst the layout is quite scattered, it shouldn’t take too long to get used to, and at under $1.50 a month for its Platinum package (on a 12 month contract) it offers very affordable options for anyone wishing to meet dates in Thailand. 

As the name might imply, this site seems primarily (but not exclusively) designed to help men meet Thai women. After registering, which is pretty quick and easy, you can browse the site, although you will find yourself directed to the upgrade sales screen quite a lot, which becomes annoying. This screen is, however, quite useful, as it highlights all the differences between the different packages, as well as telling you about the prices.

You can upgrade to Gold or Platinum membership, though if you want to use an instant messenger with a translator you’ll have to go for Platinum. Still, all is not lost as this is still a cheap option and shouldn’t cause any financial problems. The Platinum package also opens up the ability to leave hidden messages on profiles, so that the member can see what you have to say but nobody else can, which is a sort of saucy and/or romantic way of letting someone know how you feel.

The members are not only in Thailand, but many are of Thai heritage living around the world. So, if you’re in the US and wish to meet a girl of Thai background in your country, this is possible. You can even narrow your search to find girls in your state or town. Profiles include lots of information on a member’s sense of humor, their ideal date and their personal thoughts, giving you a good sense of who they are and what they enjoy. However, it is not obligatory to complete all of your profile, and many people have chosen to leave much of this information blank, which isn’t very useful.

Members can include photos, audio and video on their profile, letting you view their home town, hear their voice and more. You can then send them mail, wink at them, send them a photo, add them to your favorite members or write a postcard. You also have the option to change the background color of their profile page (we assume you are meant to come up with some kind of key to remember who you like) although this can affect the quality on the visuals of the page, so isn’t always recommended.

The site’s dashboard shows you how many winks you’ve received, how many views your profile has received, your messages and more. This makes it easy to navigate around once you get the hang of things. However, more generally, the site is messy and seems a bit amateur. If you wish to meet people of Thai heritage around the world and you don’t have a lot of money to spend doing so, GoodThaiGirl could be a strong contender for you. It might be a bit slapdash, even chaotic at times, but it does its job.
